2 new COVID-19 deaths, 80 new cases reported in South Dakota Wednesday
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - COVID-19 has claimed two more lives in South Dakota, health officials announced Wednesday.
The two additional deaths bring total deaths in the state to 111. Both victims were men in their 70s. They were residents of Butte and Pennington counties.
The Department of Health also confirmed 80 new cases Wednesday, bringing total known cases in the state to 7,652. Active cases rose by 14 to 872.
Current hospitalizations fell by three to 59.
The state processed 1,379 tests Wednesday, a slight increase from recent days when the state averaged 700-800 daily tests. Just under six percent of tests came back positive.
