SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The drivers involved in a two-vehicle crash west of Sioux Falls on Thursday were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities say.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 59-year-old man driving a Dodge Ram pickup, pulling a flatbed with a small tractor on it, was eastbound on South Dakota Highway 42 just before 11 am. They say the Dodge Ram pickup had a front-end collision with a GMC Sierra pickup heading west, driven by a 24-year-old man.

Authorities say the vehicle’s started on fire. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Names of the two people involved are not yet being released pending notification of family members.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation.
