SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - An infectious disease doctor with Sanford Health, Dr. Susan Hoover, breaks down information about Pfizer’s vaccine to fight COVID-19 as well as Moderna’s vaccine. She said both are very similar. Both of them are mRNA vaccines and require two doses.

Pfizer’s vaccine for COVID-19 was given emergency use authorization by the FDA last week. Moderna’s vaccine was approved by a FDA advisory committee Thursday, but as of Friday morning, was still waiting for emergency use authorization. It was expected some time Friday though.

Dr. Hoover joined Dakota News Now Friday morning to talk about the facts of both vaccines and the safety and effectiveness of both.
