MADISON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Dakota State women just keep on winning. And Morgan Koepsell is one of the reasons why. The junior from Canova, who transferred back home to play for the Trojans is the NSAA Player of the Week after that huge game last week against Briar Cliff when she scored 28 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She missed only 1 shot in 13 attempts from the field.

Koepsell has been solid all year as the Trojans are now 10-3... And she’s thrilled to be playing for her hometown team. Morgan says, ”It’s going really good. I feel like we’re really starting to gel as a team. So it’s been a lot of fun so far.” Teammate and Madison native Jessi Giles agrees, ”Ever since she’s gotten here it’s been so much fun. I think we work really well together. I can find her in the post and she’s so good about finding me out on the three point line. It’s been a lot of fun.”

The Trojans are receiving votes in the NAIA national poll. They resume their homestand with 2 more games at the Fieldhouse Friday against Valley City and Saturday against Dickinson State. David Moe’s team is 2-0 in league play.
