SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program is meant for live venue operators or promoters, theatrical producers, live performing arts organization operators, or others that meet specific criteria. People can’t apply for this grant if they received a PPP loan in this latest round of the program that was announced in December.

Eligible applicants may qualify for one of these grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue. The maximum amount for a single award is $10 million. Operators must also have been in operation as of February 29, 2020.

The program is not yet accepting applications, but they are expected to start being accepted soon. Jaime Wood with the Small Business Administration in South Dakota said it’s important for operators to get their documentation prepared for the grant, so they can apply as soon as the program opens. There is a total of $15 billion available from this program across the nation, so grants are expected to go quickly. They will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. More questions about the program can be found on the Small Business Administration’s website.
