SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Two people are behind bars after police say they were caught stealing catalytic converters from a Sioux Falls salvage yard on Tuesday.

Police say they received a report of two people parking their vehicle and heading into a wooded area with bags, near a salvage yard on North Cliff Avenue. Arriving officers found the suspects in the salvage yard, in the process of cutting out catalytic converter from vehicles.

Police say the suspects fled but were caught a short distance away.

25-year-old Richard Anthony Vital and 27-year-old Tumika Richon Condon are facing burglary and drug charges. Sioux Falls police are working to determine if the suspects are linked to other catalytic converter thefts.

The arrests come just two days after three men were arrested for stealing catalytic converters from a Sioux Falls salvage yard.
