BROOKINGS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Jackrabbits also had their game with the Bison this Saturday moved to April 17th and their next game will be against USD after a 3 week layoff.

So should the league consider just saying this is enough and stopping play. Jackrabbits head coach John Stiegelmeier was on Calling All Sports today and he certainly doesn’t think so. He told us last night how proud he’s been of his players throughout the adversity and wants them to have a chance to win a championship.

”Let’s take 2 scenarios. We keep playing and we luck out and make the playoffs and we have a chance to compete for a national championship. Isn’t that what you dreamed about as an athlete? That’s what these guys have worked hard for. I talk to recruits every week and I ask them when did you start thinking about college football? Some of them start the first day they put pads on in the 4th grade or even earlier than that. And so this is a dream come true,” says the SDSU Football Coach.

And the other option is just to close things down like some schools have done. Stig likes the fact that they are still playing much better. The really frustrating thing for the 4th-ranked Jacks is that they played a near-perfect game at Southern Illinois and will have such a big gap between games.

So now they will finish out their regular season schedule against their 2 big rivals, USD and NDSU.
