SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Augustana pitcher Parker Hanson has hoped for the return of his prosthetic arm since it was stolen last week, and now he’s adamant on giving back after it was found and returned Tuesday.
Hanson’s prosthetic arm and backpack were taken from his car last week near Prairie Avenue just southeast of Augustana’s campus. The Augie pitcher posted on social media about the theft and asked for help in finding it and identifying the person who took it.

On Tuesday, Augustana announced it set up a fundraiser to help Parker replace his prosthetic arm. An hour later, it was announced the prosthetic arm was located and returned. The prosthetic arm was found at Millenium Recycling. Parker says the arm is in “pretty rough shape” and that he plans to continue with the fundraiser to help others in need.
The @GoAugie athletics department has worked with the @NCAA to find a way to help @parkerhanson21 and replace his prosthetic arm.
