ABERDEEN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Aberdeen Wings took a 2-0 lead over Minot and then won the series in Overtime Sunday night in the deciding game 5. The Wings had a record-setting season with just 4 losses, but 2 of those were to Minot and the Tauros gave them all they could handle in the opening round of the Robertson Cup Playoffs.

Jake Sibell is sure glad they won because this has been a very special season for him and his teammates. ”I feel like it’s definitely special for me to be a part of this team. I’ve never had a team be this successful. So I’m enjoying it and I feel like the rest of the team is enjoying the success as well,” says Sibell.

The Wings continue this incredible season as they hope to defend their NAHL title when they take on Bismarck in the next round starting Friday night at The Odde... It’s also a best of 5 series that would end in Aberdeen with game 5 on Monday, June 14th if necessary.
