YANKTON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Mount Marty is in the market for a new men’s basketball head coach.

Todd Lorensen has resigned after two years as the Lancers leader. Building off the foundation laid by his predecessor Cody Schilling, Lorensen went 31-29 and led Mount Marty to the GPAC Tournament Championship game last year.

In a text to Dakota News Now this evening Lorensen said he “had a great experience at Mount Marty and is proud of what the program accomplished and that it’s time for a change pace for him personally and professionally”.

Mount Marty is also searching for an athletic director after Chris Kassin left in April for a position at USD. Lorensen had served as interim athletic director as well.

In a statement tonight Mount Marty President Marc Long says that he and Executive Vice President Bill Miller will chose an interim athletic director and men’s basketball coach in the days ahead, with searches for both permanent positions to begin shortly thereafter.
