Anytime Fitness partners with Helpline Center for grand opening event
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Anytime Fitness is hosting a grand opening event with a portion of proceeds going to the Helpline Center’s suicide prevention program.
The event runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony taking place at 4:30 p.m.
The gym is located at 6010 S. Minnesota Ave. It actually opened last November but held off on holding a grand opening celebration.
“We’re going to have a DJ and a bounce house. We’re going to be doing a scavenger hunt inside the building to help people know what we offer and a little bit about how we give back to the community,” Meagan Donovan said, a regional manager for Anytime Fitness.
During Wednesday’s grand opening, for anybody that signs up for a membership, $50 of that membership will be donated to the Helpline Center.
“That’s how we keep our organization alive is through donations and fundraising. We are so appreciative that they named us as the nonprofit,” said Janet Harvey, the events coordinator for the Helpline Center.
This grand opening will also help support the Helpline Center’s Step Forward to Prevent Suicide event, which is taking place on Saturday.
“All of the donations that we will get from Anytime Fitness, is going to come directly into our suicide crisis and prevention program. So we will be able to provide training, support groups, and things like that for the residents of South Dakota,” Harvey said.
