12 new COVID-19 cases in South Dakota reported Wednesday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Department of Health reported 12 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday.
The new cases bring the state’s total case count to 124,314, 122,070 of which are considered recovered. Active cases continue to steadily decline in the state. Currently, 221 cases are considered active by the department of health.
According to the South Dakota Department of Health, 357,139 South Dakotans have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot. 308,312 South Dakotans have received both shots needed for maximum immunization from the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. 20,991 South Dakotans have received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
No new deaths were reported Wednesday. The state death toll is 2,023.
