11 new COVID-19 cases reported in South Dakota Friday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Department of Health reported 11 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.

The new cases bring the state’s total case count to 124,343, 122,096 of which are considered recovered. Active cases decreased slightly to 221.

According to the South Dakota Department of Health, 359,119 South Dakotans have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot. 311,180 South Dakotans have received two shots needed for maximum immunization from the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, 21,314 South Dakotans have received the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

No new deaths were reported on Friday. The state’s death toll remains at 2,026.
