SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -- High pressure will take back over the area just in time for the weekend which will mean sunshine for the entire weekend, but the cooler air won’t stick around for very long.

Saturday’s highs will be in the upper 80′s to the east and lower 90′s to the west with the humidity still remaining lower. Heading into Sunday, the entire area will be back in the 90′s for highs as the humidity begins to slowly rise once again. We’re tracking a chance for some spotty showers and storms on Monday mainly across the southeastern portions of the viewing area.

Much of this upcoming week will be rather uneventful as once again we’re going to be focusing on the heat and the dry conditions sticking around. Highs by Wednesday for parts of western and northern South Dakota will be near 100 once more. We’re tracking another chance for showers and storms Thursday which will try to cool us down briefly to the lower 80′s next Friday, but then it looks like we’ll be back in the upper 80′s to the lower 90′s by next weekend.
