Authorities identify man found dead on northwest Iowa highway

HINTON, Iowa (Dakota News Now) - Officials have released the name of the man whose body was found on a highway in northwest Iowa.

Thirty-five-year-old Blake Sindelar of Fremont, Neb. died in an accident Monday, according to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say a motorist called 911 just after 3 a.m. saying they hit something on the roadway on U.S. Highway 75 just north of Hinton, Iowa. A short time later, another driver called in saying a person was lying in the roadway.

When deputies arrived, they found Sindelar dead at the scene.

No other details have been released. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing.
