SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - This week, Aaron and Doug are talking about one of the most famous ferns, the Boston Fern.

The Boston Fern is actually a mutated sword fern first discovered in Boston. In order to take care of it, you’ll want to make sure you keep it moist. Doug says the quickest way to kill a Boston Fern is to let the soil get too dry. The fern will take on a yellow color if that happens.

Boston Ferns only need about four to six hours of direct sunlight in the morning. You can also prune the plant of any parts that have been damaged.

Boston Ferns are also great to put in containers. They can also be used great thrillers in your arrangements.
