SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A South Dakota state record was broken by a Sioux Falls man on Friday.

The South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks fisheries biologist verified a new state record smallmouth caught and released on Lake Oahe. The smallmouth bass measured 7lbs 4.7oz., 20.75 inches long, and has a 19.25-inch girth.

The GFP congratulated Troy Diede, of Sioux Falls, in a Facebook post.
