SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Believe it or not the boy’s high school golf season actually begins in less than a month.

Some of the top young players will have gotten plenty of practice this summer though during the SDGA/Sanford Junior Golf Series, a six event tour that looked to give competitive and affordable opportunities for South Dakota’s elite golfers.

The tour championship was held today at The Country Club of Sioux Falls. In the boy’s championship Luke Honner shot a one-under par 71 to best former Lincoln High School teammate (and 2020 State AA Champion) Nash Stenberg by one stroke.

In the girl’s championship Mitchell’s Masy Mock sank a birdie on 18 to force a tie with Reese Jansa, each shooting a one-over par 73. Jansa, the 2021 State AA Champion, would eventually prevail after winning the fourth sudden death playoff hole with a par.
