LEVO honors 8 teachers as part of the ‘Adopt a Classroom’ program
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - LEVO Credit Union has awarded $500 to each teacher as part of its Adopt a Classroom program, which has provided over $38,000 since 2014.
This year, LEVO received a record 98 nominations from communities like Sioux Falls, Watertown, and Brandon.
Among the honorees were Garret Buchanan in Watertown, who started his school’s first jazz band, and Rachel Sturm from Jefferson High School.
“It is very humbling. It is an honor to know that there are so many teachers that do so many wonderful things, to be recognized for the cool things we do in classes. I plan to use the funds to enhance different projects that we do, so sometimes students have to bring in different items from home, so I will be able to use this to have items on hand, so students who can’t afford some of those things, will still have things for projects,” said Sturm.
Other nominees include Amy Lundquist from Lennox and Allison Rasmussen from Brandon Elementary.
LEVO says these awards celebrate the amazing educators who make a lasting impact on our kids.
