SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - This weekend, an event is raising awareness and needed items to a local nonprofit with the help of vendors and pancakes.

The Foster Network supports foster families in many ways. One being The Closet, where families can come for needed clothes and necessities. Officials say they’re always in need of pajamas in all sizes, from newborns to adults.

That’s where Pancakes & PJs comes in. You can bring a set of new PJs to the event on Saturday to entered into a drawing for prizes.

Many of the vendors will also have special deals if you donate to The Foster Network.

The Network says they are grateful for vendors that come to these fundraisers to help promote the need in foster homes.

“When businesses commit to supporting us for events like these, it does two things: the pajamas will be super beneficial to kids entering care, but also raise awareness. The more people know about us, the better, and these businesses are doing this for us,” said Kristen Roades, The Foster Network board member.

Outside of the Pancakes and PJs fundraiser, The Foster Network says they are always looking for more clothing, whether it’s pajamas, underwear, or shoes.

The Pancakes and PJs event will be held at Nordic Hall at 218 West 13th Street in Sioux Falls
