‘TutHell’ 50K fundraiser returns to Tuthill Park
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Runners looking for a serious challenge returned to Tuthill Park in Sioux Falls on Saturday for the “TutHell” 50K.
It’s a simple but challenging run. Participants must run the .31-mile loop 100 times. There are 90 feet of elevation on each loop, and they have 12 hours to complete it.
The run was also a charity fundraiser, with each runner nominating a charity or organization of their choice to receive funds if they won the race. A male and a female winner were both crowned.
“To get invited to do this race, there’s no general registration; they have to put in a 100-word essay on why they would want to do this race, and in their essay, they also put a charity that they would support if they won,” organizer David Missal explained.
Last year, more than $5,000 was raised for two local organizations. This year, organizers had the goal of raising $10,000, with each winning organization receiving $5,000.
