Lexie Merley

Lexie is originally from the small town of Sheldon in northwest Iowa. Being a weather fanatic from an early age, Lexie chose to follow this passion and make it into a career. Lexie attended Iowa State University for meteorology in hopes of someday working in research, however, after participating in the school's broadcast club, she fell in love with broadcast meteorology. The summer before her senior year in college, Lexie had the opportunity to be a weather intern at KTIV in Sioux City, Iowa which further solidified her love for broadcast news. Lexie graduated from ISU in the spring of 2023 and joined Dakota News Now in May of the same year as the Weekend Meteorologist.

In her off time, Lexie loves storm chasing and notes her favorite chasing experience thus far: seeing the twin tornados during the March 31st outbreak in eastern Iowa. When Lexie isn't in the studio or forecasting you can find her spending time with family, friends, and of course her pets.
