SIOUX FALLS
Alexandra Todd

Alexandra Todd is thrilled to be joining the Dakota News Now team, learning about Sioux Falls, and exploring all that scenic South Dakota has to offer. She looks forward to engaging with the local community and sharing their stories.

Alexandra grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she developed a passion for storytelling and the arts. On her family’s farm, she also learned to care for Scottish Highland steers and considers herself both a country and city girl!

She holds a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism, Media & Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University in Chicago. While in Chicago, she worked as an anchor and video reporter on “Chicago this Week” and hosted a segment on arts and entertainment called “A & E with Alexandra T” on CAN TV. She also created and produced a mini-documentary, “Heart and Soul,” about the impact of Chicago street art during the pandemic, and an explainer video about her hometown called, “Pittsburghese.”

Alexandra earned her Bachelor’s Degree from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. Following her graduation from NYU, she lived in Los Angeles and New York City, where she worked as a pre-K teacher and created a successful blog, “Mad About Manhattan,” featuring photography from her travels and focusing on motivational essays for millennials.

As a new resident of South Dakota, Alexandra is proud to report that she is now “Mad About Sioux Falls!”
