SDSU graduate Scott Engen wears many hats at Dakota News Now.
KSFY and now Dakota News Now is Scott’s first job in the industry out of college. He is happy now to be part of the Dakota News Now team and excited for the opportunities ahead of him.
Scott grew up in Brookings, South Dakota, before moving to Sioux Falls to start his career as a Multimedia Journalist. He attended Brookings High School and it was there he decided he wanted to go into the media field. His dream started with a love for sports broadcasting and writing for his school newspaper, The Broboca.
While attending SDSU, Scott hosted his own radio talk show at the campus radio station, KSDJ, as well as announcing play-by-play for various college athletics. In addition to working with the radio, he wrote periodically for the campus newspaper, The Collegian, and was part of the journalism department’s weekly newscast, Jacks News.
Scott graduated from South Dakota State University in May of 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Scott now fills multiple rolls at Dakota News Now. He works Monday - Wednesday as a report, and he is a Weekend Producer. In addition, he is a fill-in anchor when needed.
