2 troopers injured in pursuit of stolen vehicle in Sioux Falls

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says two troopers suffered minor injuries in Sioux Falls early Sunday morning while trying arrest a suspect accused of leading them on a stolen vehicle chase.

The troopers ended the pursuit by intentionally ramming the suspect's vehicle near 41st and Marion around two Sunday morning.

The pursuit turned into a foot chase and one trooper was hurt trying to tackle the suspect. The other was bitten by a police dog released at the scene.

They were treated for minor injuries and two patrol vehicles were damaged, along with the stolen vehicle.

The unidentified suspect faces several charges including grand theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
