Another major event in the region called off due to COVID-19, the Iowa State Fair.

The 2020 Iowa State Fair was canceled on Wednesday. The fair manager said in a statement that health and safety are the top priority and the board didn't believe it was feasible it could be held while following CDC guidelines.

According to the fair's website, it's the first time the fair has been canceled since 1945, due to World War II.
