5 arrested after Monday's armed robbery, additional arrests to follow

ABERDEEN, S.D. Five people were arrested Thursday in relations to Monday morning's armed robbery at an apartment according to a press release by the Aberdeen Police Department. More arrests are expected to follow.

Jeremy Jorgenson, 23, William Winters, 28, Kodi Hanson, 20, and Robert Gamble, 26, have all been arrested and charged with first degree robbery. Kristi Lappegard, 29, was charged with aiding and abetting as well as first degree robbery.

Officials say four men forced entry into an apartment in the 200 block of 8th Ave NE and stole items as well as an undisclosed amount of cash. Eight people were inside the residence at the time of the robbery. Two of the men brandished handguns and ordered residents to lay down on the floor.

Aberdeen police are refraining from releasing any information about the motive, but can confirm that the home invasion and robbery did not occur as a result of a random act.

The charges are under review by the Brown County States Attorney's Office and additional arrests are expected to follow.
