Brandon Valley marching band gets new semi-trailer
The Brandon Valley marching band has a new piece of equipment to help students travel.
The fully loaded semi-trailer is the first-of-its-kind in the state of South Dakota and holds everything from instruments to clothing.
In the past the school used four separate trailers to carry equipment and decided to condense its operation.
“It’s going to help us when we get to shows. Instead of having to get there and coordinate unloading four different trailers and loading different trailers, that takes up hours in a day, when we could be practicing and rehearsing or giving the kids an extra hour of sleep,” Assistant Marching Band Director Calvin Lipetzky said.
Instructors say the new trailer will allow them keep up with bigger schools in states likes Minnesota and Iowa.
