UPDATE: 22-year-old man injured in crash on I-229

UDPATE: According to Tony Mangan with the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, a 22-year-old man rear-ended another car before going into the ditch and hitting a fence.

The incident happened about 5:45 PM Tuesday afternoon. The 22 year old suffered minor injuries.

Mangan said a 51-year-old man was driving north on Interstate 229 in a Mercedes when he slowed down because he was approaching traffic. That's when the 22-year-old man driving a Chevrolet TrailBlazer rear-ended the Mercedes. The Mercedes stopped upon impact, but the TrailBlazer went into the ditch and hit a fence near Spencer Park.

Charges are pending against the 22-year-old driver. No one was injured in Spencer Park as a result of the crash.
A car crash on I-229 forced a vehicle off the interstate Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred around 6 p.m., causing one vehicle to break through a fence into Spencer Park.

Youth soccer games were in progress at the time of the accident. At this time, injuries are unknown.
