Despite months of troubleshooting, Brown County officials and employees are unable to receive the bulk of email sent from Google accounts.

Chief Information Officer Paul Sivertsen tells the American News that while some emails from Gmail accounts get through, many are rejected. He says the emails often are deferred from the county's primary server to a secondary server, and not delivered.

The mysterious glitch has caused problems for nearly all county departments.

Sivertsen says he's made numerous efforts to get the problem fixed but has yet to find a solution. He says some county workers consistently receive emails from Google accounts without issue.

Commissioners directed him to get pricing information from third parties that specialize in solving such problems. Commissioner Tom Fischbach says, "I don't think we can afford not to fix it."
