Explore the history of toys in new exhibit in Downtown Sioux Falls
An exhibit focusing on toys from the 1800s to the 1990s is now open at the Old Courthouse Museum in Downtown Sioux Falls. Toys have been around for thousands of years, but it actually wasn't until the 1800s when society began to use them for childhood development and entertainment.
They have definitely changed over time, especially with technology evolving, but they tend to know how to bring kids joy. This exhibit is meant to take visitors down memory lane.
Admission to the Old Courthouse Museum is free. You can visit three floors of public exhibit space. There are currently seven exhibits open in the museum focusing on everything from medicine to theaters to schools. It is open Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM; Thursday from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM; and Sunday from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
