Family Health, Safety Festival celebrates 15 years of teaching community

A local non-profit celebrated 15 years of its Family Health and Safety Festival.

Health Connect expected about 1,000 people to attend Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls.

The free event helped families get fluoride treatments and take a health screening, all while listening to some entertainment by Phil Baker.

The president of Health Connect said they put this event on year after year so they can encourage people to learn more about their health.

"We offer a lot of health information for people that may otherwise not have it or be able to come out and learn things they may not be able to understand," Health Connect President Will Bushee said.

Twenty vendors were at the event, which also included a free lunch.
