Garretson churches, businesses, community members donate money to families who lost homes to fire
The community of Garretson continues to support the families who lost their homes in a fire Thursday afternoon.
"For something like that to happen to them and to go through that, especially the Ellis family that happened two years ago when they lost their house again," Joey Clark said. "I mean its just the least we can do."
On Sunday, the Rescue Church in Garretson donated all of the day's offering to both affected families.
It is just one of many organizations in the community working to show their support.
Other churches and businesses in town, along with many individuals in Garretson, have all come together to let the families know they are not alone.
"We are honored to play a small role, but it really is a small role," Tyler Ramsbey, the Rescue Church campus pastor, said. "Garretson is such an incredible community. All these people came around this family to help them out."
There are two accounts for donations open at the bank in Garretson.
Someone has also started a GoFundMe page for the Ellis family who lost their second home in two years.
