A special open house was held at the First United Methodist church in downtown Sioux Falls Sunday as the historic church celebrates a $1.3 million remodeling project.
The church has served the downtown area since 1871; church leaders say this new investment will help ensure a continued bright future in the Sioux Falls community.
“We really enjoy being in the downtown area, we feel very called to be here and so we’re making sure our facility is warm, welcoming and up to date,” First UMC Connections Director Lynne Jones said.
Work on the remodel is already underway to improve the original fellowship hall, chapel, and two gathering spaces, helping to add the latest technology into the historic space.
