More than 24,000 absentee ballots requested so far in South Dakota

Absentee voting is underway in South Dakota, and voters have already requested more than 24,000 ballots ahead of the November election.

A total of 55,000 absentee ballots were cast during the last Midterm Election in 2014.

The deadline to register in South Dakota is Oct. 22.

Absentee voting is open until Nov. 5, and election day is Nov. 6.
