New Miss South Dakota USA queens crowned

The new Miss South Dakota USA and Miss South Dakota Teen USA were crowned Sunday in Brandon.
Madison Nipe of Madison is the new Miss South Dakota USA 2018 and Shania Knutson of Viborg is Miss South Dakota Teen USA 2018. Both titleholders will compete in next year’s Miss USA and Miss Teen USA national pageants.
Madison and Shania will each receive thousands of dollars in prizes and awards. The annual competition consists of three proportional segments: evening gown, swimwear/active wear and interview. Eligible young women must be between the ages of 14 and 27 and be unmarried residents of South Dakota in order to compete in the pageant.
