AR Workshop aims at helping people create custom home decor in a relaxed atmosphere. The shop opens Friday in Sioux Falls at the Western Mall. It's located right along Western Avenue.

A grand opening will be held from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. There will be hourly giveaways, music, drinks, and light bites. A grand prize of a workshop for 6 and $30 to spend at the store will be given away that night as well.

AR Workshop started in Pineville, North Carolina in 2016 by two women, Maureen Anders and Adria Ruff. Since then, more than 30 new stores have opened nationally. Tracy and Caleb Hinkkanen owns the AR Workshop in Sioux Falls.

The boutique workshop offers hands-on classes to create custom home decor from scratch. That can include framed and plank wood signs, canvas wall hangings, chalkboard art, and pillows. The classes are led by an instructor but people can use their creativity by choosing a custom design. The classes help people create "pinterest-worthy" artworks that can be for the home, office or a gift. There is also beer and wine available to purchase while people are working on their projects.
