NEWELL, S.D. – The South Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash near Newell Friday night.
65 year-old Dale Shull from Sneads Ferry, NC died from his injuries.
Shull was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson FLHTCU motorcycle eastbound on U.S. Highway 212 when he lost control.
The vehicle went into the ditch and hit an embankment.
The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and was later pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Meade County Sheriff’s Office and the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.
