Organization allows people to donate interest to charities
An organization that focuses on encouraging generosity is now in South Dakota.
Interest for Others is a social giving network.
It held an event Wednesday to inform the Sioux Falls community on how the interest earned in their bank account can make a big difference in the lives of others.
"The money that is interest in your bank account might not be money that you need, but you might be interested in giving it to a charity that you care about," CEO Mark Greene said. "So we're building a bridge if you will between banks and charities so people can donate the interest they earn or any amount to charities that they love."
Interest for Others has been operating in Minnesota for several years but is expanding into South Dakota this year.
