UPDATE: Investigators speak to couple who saw missing 9-year-old
Authorities say they have found and spoken to a couple who may have been the last people to see 9-year-old Serenity Dennard before she went missing Sunday morning.
UPDATE 5:40 p.m.:
Investigators are looking to speak with a couple who may have been the last to see a missing 9-year-old Pennington County girl.
Authorities said a man and woman were cutting wood in the area of Foster Gulch and South Rockerville Road and spoke with Children’s Home staff on Sunday between 10:30 a.m and 11:30 a.m.
Deputies would like to speak with them to better determine a timeline on Serenity Dennard’s disappearance and her direction of travel.
They are described as being in their late 20s or early 30s and driving a pickup truck.
Serenity was last seen leaving the Black Hills Children’s Home on Sunday about 10:45 a.m.
She is 4'7'', 90 pounds, with blue eyes and shoulder-length dark blonde hair.
She was last seen wearing only a long-sleeved gray shirt with flowers, blue jeans and snow boots.
Anyone who sees Serenity or has contact with her should call 605-394-6135 immediately.
UPDATE 2 p.m.:
An Endangered Missing Advisory has now been issued for a 9-year-old Pennington County girl.
Serenity June Dennard was last seen Sunday around 11:20 a.m. at the Black Hills Children’s Home. Authorities say she walked away while not appropriately dressed for the cold weather.
She is 4’9” tall, 100 pounds, has blue eyes and shoulder-length dark blond hair.
Serenity was last seen wearing a long-sleeved gray tee-shirt with flowers, a purple tank top, dark stone-washed jeans and black boots.
Anyone who sees Serenity should call 605-394-6135 immediately.
UPDATE 12 p.m.:
Pennington County sheriff's deputies and others are searching for a missing 9-year-old girl who was last seen leaving a children's center in Rapid City.
The Civil Air Patrol joined the search for Serenity Dennard Monday morning. Sheriff's officials say she left the Children's Home Society Sunday about 11 a.m. without a coat.
Search and rescue teams from Pennington County and Custer County, Rockerville and Rapid City firefighters as well as three dogs are looking for the girl. Searchers used thermal imaging devices Sunday night.
Sheriff's officials are asking anyone in the Rockerville and Highway 16 area to search their outbuildings and property for the girl.

Authorities in Pennington County are looking for a missing 9-year-old girl.
Serenity Dennard was last seen Sunday at 11:20 am, leaving the Children’s Home Society on South Rockerville Road.
Dennard is described as a Caucasian female, 4’7”, 90 pounds, with blue eyes and shoulder length dirty blonde hair.
She was last seen wearing only a long sleeved grey shirt with flowers, blue jeans and snow boots.
Police say she is from Sturgis and may be trying to get to family.
