Police: Man run over after riding on hood of car
Authorities in Sioux Falls say a man was injured after he rode on the hood of a car, fell off, and was then run over by that car.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on the 2900 block of N. Highland Avenue in northeast Sioux Falls.
Police say a 19-year-old man was riding on the hood of a car driven by an acquaintance. The victim fell off the vehicle, and the driver was unable to stop prior to running him over.
When emergency responders arrived, the man was still pinned under the vehicle, but was conscious and alert. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was able to extricate him. He was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
