Police say no one was hurt when a man accidentally fired a gun Wednesday night at a Sioux Falls business.
Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said a 41-year-old Sioux Falls man was in an argument with his wife at the business on the 300 block of S. Garfield Avenue around 9:30 p.m.
A 25-year-old friend stepped in between the two, and the man punched him in the face, Clemens said. The friend left and went to a different business to call someone to pick him up, but then realized he forgot his wallet and keys at the first business.
When the friend went back, the man threatened him with a hammer, Clemens said, and after his wife took it away, he then pulled a gun out of his waistband.
Clemens said the man accidentally fired the gun, and the bullet went past the friend, through a window and hit his vehicle.
The friend left and called 911 at another business.
Officers arrested Arian Abdul Mubeen Wissal for simple assault and two counts of aggravated assault.
