Police in Sioux Falls have identified the man who died in a stabbing over the weekend.

Lt. Mike Colwill said officers were called to the suspect's home near West 9th Street and North Evergreen Drive around 8 a.m. Sunday.

They found 38-year-old Ronnie Jerome Baker of Sioux Falls with multiple stab wounds to his chest. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful.

Colwill said Baker had been drinking for several hours with the suspect, 40-year-old Christopher Lee Adams, before they got into a verbal altercation.

According to court documents, the argument that led to the stabbing was about "magazine sales."

Adams' family members who were home at the time of the stabbing went to a neighbor's house to have them call police, Colwill said.

Authorities found Adams a couple blocks from his home.

He is facing second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter charges. Adams is being held at the Minnehaha County Jail on $250,000 cash bond.

Police have recovered the knife, which is believed to be a 3-to-4-inch blade.
