UPDATE: Three recent robberies connected

Sioux Falls police have released new details in a recent string of robberies in Sioux Falls.

After further investigation, Police Spokesman Sam Clemens said at least three of the recent five robberies are connected.

The related robberies include:

• The Get N Go at 15th St and Cliff Ave was robbed on Monday, Dec 9 around 8:30 pm.

• The Get N Go at 57th St and Marion Road was robbed on Wednesday, Dec 11 around 1 am.

• Jokerz Casino near 31st St and Minnesota Ave was robbed on Wednesday, Dec 11 around 10:45 pm.

Clemens said initially the employees gave different descriptions of the suspects.

Clemens said detectives compared the surveillance videos, and believe the suspect was wearing multiple masks and tried to conceal his skin tone with some type of coloring.


Authorities say two Sioux Falls casinos were robbed Wednesday night, making for five robberies in the city in five days.

Police say someone robbed Happy jacks Casino on E. Arrowhead Parkway just before 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say the suspect entered the store wearing a towel on his head and demanded money. He took some money then left the scene.

Later that night, police say a suspect robbed Jokzerz Casino on Minnesota Avenue at gunpoint.

Three other businesses were robbed earlier this week. One

has been made so far. Police are still working to determine if the robberies are related.

Police are looking for a suspect after another overnight armed robbery of a Sioux Falls business.

Authorities say an armed suspect entered Jokerz Casino at W. 31st Street and Minnesota Avenue around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday. According to Sgt. Martin Hoffman, the suspect demanded money, then left some cash.

No one was hurt.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, about 5'3" tall with a medium build. Anyone with details about the robbery can call Crime Stoppers at 367-7007.
