Restoration progress is continuing at a historic theatre in downtown Sioux Falls.
Officials with the State Theatre will give an update to the public on Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. in the lobby located at 316 S. Phillips Ave.
In addition, the public is invited to drop by the theatre between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Oct. 5 to check out the recent progress in the auditorium during a First Friday Art & Wine Walk.
The infrastructure of the aging building has been rebuilt to preserve the structure, and features such as the lobby have been restored. Officials said an additional $5.5 million is needed to complete work on the auditorium and upper levels of the building.
To help raise money, Great Plains Sponsorships, Inc. has been hired to help
.
The State Theatre was built in 1926 and remains a downtown landmark.
