An SUV crashed into the CellOnly Verizon wireless retailer near 41st street and Westport Avenue around one o’clock Sunday afternoon.

An employee at the Verizon store says both employees and customers were inside the building when the vehicle came crashing into the building, sending shattered glass everywhere.

No one inside the building was injured.

The driver of the SUV marked ‘Reliable Taxi’ said he lost control of his vehicle on the slippery roadway. He was not seriously injured in the crash.

Sioux Falls Police said the front of the store was damaged, but the building is considered structurally sound.

CellOnly Verizon employees bundled up to secure merchandise in the freezing store Sunday afternoon, but the store was closed to customers the rest of the day. Employees say the store will re-open Tuesday morning.
