Over the weekend, the community's generosity helped the Salvation Army surpass its fundraising target for the match day.
The Red Kettle campaign surpassed its goal of raising $70,000 for it's annual match day.
An anonymous donor matched every $20 with $80 on Saturday.
The Salvation Army's goal for the season is $350,000. It's still about $100,000 short of reaching that goal.
(This article has been updated to reflect that the $70,000 goal was for the match day, not the entire season.)
