Secretary of State talks voter turnout, ballot issues
Secretary of State Shantel Krebs continues to have great communication across the state with the workers, volunteers and auditor's offices on what's going on in their area.
Not only are the polling locations running smoothly, many South Dakota residents are calling to make sure they're registered to vote before heading to cast their ballot. Krebs and her staff are walking these callers through the steps to make sure they're prepared.
"We're walking them through that process so they know where to go vote at, how to get that sample ballot and view it ahead of time," explains Krebs.
So far, voter turnout and absentee ballots are at a record high. As many as 108,000 South Dakotan voters cast their ballots before election day.
