Sioux Falls 'Rock Steady Boxing' class helps Parkinson's patients fight back

The Inn on Westport in Sioux Falls hosts Rock Steady Boxing classes designed to help people living with Parkinson's Disease.

The Rock Steady Boxing program was originally developed in Indianapolis. There are now 90 affiliates of the program all over the United States. This is the first one in South Dakota.

It is a unique exercise program based on training used by boxing pros and adapted for people living with Parkinson's. The Inn on Westport built a specific studio for this workout.

Parkinson's Disease is a degenerative neurological disease that is incurable right now. This workout hopes to delay the effects of the disease and is for all ages and abilities.

The Inn on Westport is a senior living community that offers independent living, assisted living and memory care.
