If you've had Taco John's, odds are you've had their famous potato oles.

Friday night, in an interesting twist, the fast food chain combined its savory little potato bites with music to recognize one of the area's most loyal fans while he visited Sioux Falls.

The Minnesota Avenue Taco John's restaurant presented its first-ever Potato Oles Trophy to National Blues artist Har Mar Superstar who happens to be in town from Minneapolis to perform Friday night. The event was open to the public. The original plan, organizers say, was to award Har Mar the coveted 'Taco Trophy' until they noticed the singer only had two loves in his life: music and potato oles.

"He's always tweeting about how much he loves the Midwest, Potato Oles, Taco Johns all together. Taco John's, we want to reward those people who really want to spread the word, tell their friends, family and fans how much they love their food," Taco John's 57th and Louise Store Manager Chris Carroll said.

Har Mar Superstar will not go home hungry. The award comes with free potato oles for an entire year.
